The Spirit Management Team combines a wealth of experience from various disciplines to manage our diverse portfolio of single tenant real estate properties. From the structuring of real estate transactions to the administration and monitoring of the portfolio and the reporting of its cash flows, this team is the backbone of the infrastructure of Spirit Finance.

Thomas H. Nolan, Jr.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Nolan joined us in September 2011 and currently serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the company. Prior to joining us, Mr. Nolan worked for General Growth Properties, Inc. (GGP) serving as a director for 6 years and as President and Chief Operating Officer for the last 2 years while at GGP. Mr. Nolan was a member of the senior management team that led GGP’s reorganization and emergence from bankruptcy, which included the restructuring of project-level debt, payment in full of all of GGP’s pre-petition creditors and the securing of equity commitments. Prior to his work with GGP, Mr. Nolan served for 4 years as a Principal and Chief Financial Officer of Loreto Bay Company, the developer of the Loreto Bay master planned community in Baja, California. For over 20 years, Mr. Nolan held various financial positions with AEW Capital Management, L.P., a national real estate investment advisor, and he spent the last 6 of those years as Head of Equity Investing and as President and Senior Portfolio Manager of The AEW Partners Funds. Mr. Nolan earned a BA in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.

Peter Mavoides
President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Mavoides joined us in September 2011 and currently serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. Prior to joining us, Mr. Mavoides worked for over 7½ years with Sovereign Investment Company as its President and Chief Executive Officer, a private equity firm that focuses on investment opportunities relating to long-term, net-leased real estate. Mr. Mavoides previously worked with Eastdil Realty, a subsidiary of Wells Fargo Bank, and with Citigroup, where he focused on the structuring of sale-leaseback transactions. Mr. Mavoides earned a BS from the United States Military Academy and a MBA from the University of Michigan.

Michael Bender
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Bender joined us in October 2007 and currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company. Prior to joining us, Mr. Bender spent over 20 years in finance and accounting and held positions as Assistant Corporate Controller for Allied Waste, Inc., Vice President of Global External Reporting for American Express Corporation, Chief Financial Officer for FINOVA Realty Capital and senior manager for an international public accounting firm. Mr. Bender earned a BS in Accounting and MBA from Arizona State University and has been a certified public accountant since 1984.

Gregg Seibert
Senior Vice President
Mr. Seibert joined us in September 2003 and currently serves as a Senior Vice President of the company. Mr. Seibert is responsible for acquisitions and special projects. Prior to joining us, Mr. Seibert worked for over 9 years at Franchise Finance Corporation of America (FFCA) and held positions as Vice President and Senior Vice President of Underwriting and Research and Senior Vice President of Acquisitions until FFCA’s acquisition in August 2001 by GE Capital Corporation (GECC), where he served as a Senior Vice President until he joined us. Mr. Seibert previously served as a Vice President in the commercial real estate lending group of Bank of America and as an investment analyst with the Travelers Insurance Company. Mr. Seibert earned a BS in Finance from the University of Missouri and a MBA in Finance from the University of Missouri Graduate School of Business.

Julie Dimond
Vice President – Tax & Operations
Ms. Dimond joined us in December 2003 and currently serves as Vice President – Tax & Operations of the company. Ms. Dimond is responsible for tax efficient transaction structuring, corporate acquisitions, partnership tax matters, effective planning for our TRS and maintenance of REIT status, as well as our administrative and human resource functions. Prior to joining us, Ms. Dimond served as Vice President – Tax for FFCA for three years until FFCA’s acquisition by GECC and was engaged as a consultant to GECC following the acquisition until she joined us. Ms. Dimond previously worked as a manager with an international public accounting firm. Ms. Dimond earned a BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1992.

Joni Barrett
Vice President - Compliance
Ms. Barrett joined us in March 2004 and currently serves as Vice President – Compliance for the company. Ms. Barrett is responsible for legal compliance, closing, servicing and due diligence for our portfolio. Ms. Barrett has over 28 years of real estate, finance and corporate experience and prior to joining us worked as a paralegal specialist at the law firms of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton; Keck, Mahin & Cate; Cooley Godward and Bryan Cave. Ms. Barrett has also worked in similar capacities with Prudential Realty Group, Wells Fargo Bank and the predecessor company to the Resolution Trust Corporation. Ms. Barrett earned a BA from the University of California at Berkeley and received formal paralegal training from San Francisco State University.

Sean Hufford
Vice President – Asset Management
Mr. Hufford joined us in March 2004 and currently serves as Vice President – Asset Management. Mr. Hufford is responsible for special servicing and property management for the portfolio including workouts, property sales, re-leasing and property management for vacant properties. Prior to joining us, Mr. Hufford served as Director of Financial Planning for SpinCycle, Inc., a publicly-owned consolidator and developer of coin-operated laundries and has held various finance and real estate positions with the Magellan Companies, a privately-held real estate conglomerate. Mr. Hufford earned a BA from the University of Arizona.

Jeffrey Hall
Vice President – Information Technology
Mr. Hall joined us in October 2005 and currently serves as Vice President – Information Technology. Mr. Hall is responsible for all aspects of technology including systems development and maintenance, telecommunications, desktop support, IT security, disaster recovery planning, equipment purchases and IT vendor negotiations. Prior to joining us, Mr. Hall worked for Wireless Retail, Inc. as Database Developer and Administrator and worked with a staff of more than fifty programmers and support personnel to maintain and enhance Wireless Retail’s internally developed, constantly evolving, mission critical Point of Sale and inventory tracking solutions. Mr. Hall earned a BA from Southern Illinois University.

Elizabeth Burm
Vice President and Controller
Ms. Burm joined us in September 2005 and currently serves as Vice President and Controller of the company. Ms. Burm is responsible for our accounting operations, debt compliance and reporting, and budgeting. Prior to joining us, Ms. Burm spent over 20 years in finance and accounting and held several positions including Director of Global External Financial Reporting for American Express Company, Vice President-Technical Accounting and Policy for First Interstate Bank and senior auditor for the international public accounting firm of Ernst & Young. Ms. Burm earned a BS in Finance from Arizona State University and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1989.
